Hispano Suiza 12\/15 (1909)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reference data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chassis<\/strong>: Hispano Suiza 12\/15<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Engine<\/strong>: Hispano Suiza with a 4-cylinder 2212 cc engine and 20 HP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bodywork<\/strong>: unknown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Entry into service<\/strong>: 1909<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Decal<\/strong>: does not have one<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Seats<\/strong>: 15<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Registration<\/strong>: B-352<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Historical overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Hispano-Suiza: pioneer of motoring in Spain<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Hispano-Suiza<\/strong> began manufacturing cars around <strong>1905<\/strong>, and would become, by far, the <strong>longest-running Spanish manufacturer<\/strong>, producing vehicles under that name until <strong>1946<\/strong>, and later continuing under the <strong>Pegaso<\/strong> brand until <strong>1994<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Among the Hispano-Suiza model range of the time, this <strong>chassis<\/strong>, which began production in <strong>1908<\/strong>, was the <strong>smallest and most economical<\/strong>, as the manufacturer emphasised in its advertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>bodywork<\/strong> is the classic <strong>closed<\/strong> style of the era, derived from the <em>limousine<\/em> type: a <strong>berlina-galley<\/strong> with the <strong>driver and assistant seated up front, no doors<\/strong>, a <strong>first \u201cnoble\u201d compartment<\/strong> with a <strong>transverse bench<\/strong> and <strong>door on the left side<\/strong>, and a <strong>second \u201cgalley\u201d compartment<\/strong> with passengers <strong>seated back-to-back along the sides<\/strong> and a <strong>rear access door<\/strong>.
